Here’s what we’ve discovered and tried so far along with some notes you’ll find helpful. The good news is every experience every where we have been has been great so far! We’ll continue to update this list after every visit.

Just wow. Food, service, everything here was so so good. This is definitely going to be a place we come back to often and bring friends that visit. It was reasonably priced and just so great.

Plaça de la Marina Alta

Da Giulia is just perfect all around. No matter what you like in terms of Italian, the food here is on point. Service is great and being able to sit in the square on a nice evening can’t be beat.

Portitxol is the perfect place for a night out. A wide array of Spanish dishes that are well made and reasonably priced.

Puelche is located in the Mi Almazara hotel. If you’re looking for something unique in the area this is it. A Japanese/Mediterranean fusion place that has really great food.

Avinguda del Mediterrània, 10b

Cala Brisa in the Port area and has a super nice patio, as well as indoor seating. It has a wide range of food options and makes for a great afternoon or evening to sit out, look at the Med and people watch.

La Fontana has the perfect position on the Arenal. It has a great patio to sit and watch the day go buy. It’s great anytime of day. They open early for breakfast and it goes all the way through dinner service. Make sure to visit the gourmet food and wine shop.

La Vera has a wide variety of foods including a good vegetarian dish selection.

One of our favorite places for breakfast. It opens early (for Spain), has great coffee and many breakfast options for super reasonable prices. We know this will be a place we’ll go often when we get settled in Jávea.

A combination of smoothies, coffee and food. Primarily vegetarian and salads, but also other selections as well. Plus, a wide selection of art to look at as well.

Benissa

Right on the square in Benissa, this bar is a no-nonsense place to get tapas and good bar food. Friendly service, good food, you can’t go wrong.

Plaça Rei Jaume I, 10

Jijonenca is a traditional Spanish ice cream brand that has locations throughout Spain including this one just off the square in Benissa. Really good ice cream and its just a couple of doors down from El Palleter.

Pedreguer

First, the location is very nice, it’s outside of town and lots of space for outdoor dining, as well as inside. The drinks were great. The food was good. It’s not exactly Mexican, Mexican, but a Spanish spin on Mexican. Would go back for sure.

La Xara

Partida Fredat, 12
Instagram

Another one of the Michelin guide restaurants in the Jávea/Denia area. It’s located about 15 minutes from both cities in La Xara. It’s small. 8 tables. The food was amazing. Presentation was great. A wide variety of flavors and styles. A great experience and we’ll definitely be back.

Coffee Shops

Jávea

Av. Libertad, 15

Nostro has two locations. One in the Arenal and one in the Port. Very good coffee and very popular with both locals and tourists.

Avinguda del Pla

In Jávea this is our favorite coffee shop. Nice patio, plenty of inside seating and great coffee. Plus, a good selection of pastries and food. It’s our go to and the service here is always top notch.

Dénia

Avenida Miguel Hernández, 45
Instagram

If you take both Dénia AND Jávea together, this is our favorite place overall for coffee. You can miss it, as it’s their roastery and warehouse, so look closely. Always super friendly, if you’re there at the right time you can smell the coffee roasting and they’ll package up your take away beans at the time you purchase. On Sundays, you can catch them at the market at Jesús Pobre.

Markets

Jesús Pobré

Carrer del Pinaret, 2
Instagram

A very nice local market with lots of organic vegetables, local food products, artisan crafts and food stalls. Held every Sunday in the mornings Fall through Spring and on Sunday evenings in the summer. Definitely worth a visit!

Pedreguer

Avd. de les Industries 24

Located in the Pedreguer industrial park, while this market does have a few food items, it is more of a flea market. So if you’re looking for clothes, knick knacks, furniture, etc., this is your place. Held on Sunday mornings.

Wineries & Wine Shops

Jesús Pobré

Parcela, 1, polígono 12
Instagram

A really nice local historic winery with vineyard tours, wine tastings and the ability to buy a bottle of wine and sit out on their very spacious patio. Wine is very reasonably priced. A great way to spend an afternoon. Note when making appointments that wine tours in English are offered at certain times of the day.

Miscellaneous

Javea

If you’re looking for landscaping plants, indoor plants, statuary or anything outdoor oriented, this is your place. It’s HUGE. They also have an onsite restaurant as well. Definitely worth a visit.

Places To Stay

Javea

We stayed here during our first house hunting trip. It’s about 10 minutes outside of Jávea but very nice. It’s a minimalist Ibizan style, but rooms were spacious and they have a great outdoor pool. Plus, their onsite restaurant Puelche is the same as mentioned above. Rates were very reasonable.
